Visiting St Michael’s Mount

On Wednesday the children visited St Michaels Mount and enjoyed taking part in the Treasure trail. We walked to the bus station and caught a bus to Marazoin where some of our friends were waiting for us. Before we crossed the causeway the children enjoyed some snack and then looked for some sea shells on the beach.

When we got to the island, our treasure trail involved looking around the island for different letters, after we all found the letters, we had to work out what the letters spelt, which was the name of St Michael’s Mount island giant. Cormoran!

Then we enjoyed some snack in the learning hub, where we were looking at some St Michael’s Mount stories and looked at the live web cam, where we saw the Mount, the causeway and the beach.! The children loved spotting different things, especially the woman who had 5 dogs walking on the beach!

When we left the island, the wind picked up and we practically flew onto the beach! Which the children did laugh about! We then waited for the double decker bus, it was great, playing ‘I can spy with my little eye’. We sat at the top at the back of the bus and the children were talking about what they could see, waved goodbye to the Mount.

It was great to hear the children talk about how they enjoyed their day! Well done children.
