We offer quality learning experiences for children.
Today a group of Pre School children visited the Gardener’s House for a Autumnal session exploring Morrab Garden’s with Daisy and Sharon. The children were greeted with a fruit snack platter and then got busy exploring.
To start with Daisy showed us two baby grasshoppers that she is looking after, one was called Hop! We then went to explore the gardens with a mission to find the fish in the pond and after this we looked for a newt Daisy has recently seen in the fountain. We found the fish but didn’t spot the newt this time, maybe you can visit again and see if you can find it?
Along the way the children were looking for details in the natural environment, things such as cobwebs behind the bark in the trees and different shapes and colours in the plants. There were some cut down plants that the children thought looked like pigs! Near the fountain we saw foot prints in the mud and the children showed curiosity wondering what may have made the prints. On our way back to the gardeners house we stopped and looked at the ‘looking tree’ which has nodules that look like eyes which is how it gets it’s name! Outside the gardener’s house we looked at the textures on the plants in the sensory garden and the mosaic tiles too. The children showed lots of curiosity and asked brilliant questions.
What a busy morning learning about the natural world around us!
