We offer quality learning experiences for children.
Take a peek! It’s lots of fun…..
The toddlers have had a fabulous first half term. We have all settled in beautifully, meeting our new peers and practitioners!
This term we focused on the book ‘Owl Babies.’ We have especially enjoyed exploring our outdoor environment. The children have been collecting sticks, leaves and pine cones to create birds nests! They have been bug hunting finding worms, slugs and other insects, this has created a lot of curiosity amongst the toddlers.
We have all been showing lots of very serious focus and intent on watching the birds, listening and repeating the different sounds we hear.
Inside we have also been exploring a variety of sensory activities such as the textures of gloop ponds and mark making with natural materials. We have also been exploring play dough by manipulating it with with our hands and tools, this has helped develop our fine motors skills while expanding our vocabulary too, as we use lots of descriptive words during our play.
It has been great to get messy! A favourite amongst us all is role playing in our home corner where we care for the baby dolls and explore cooking for the bears, creating conversations about what we like to eat how to be caring and gentle towards our peers and family and how this makes us all feel.
We’ve been on lovely trips to the library, reading books and discovering new toys to play with. Having snack in Penlee park along the way is always exciting as we get to see even more squirrels!
It’s been a very busy half term and we cannot wait for next half term! We’ll be delving in to the Stick Man’s Present for our focus book alongside all of our other play.
