The learning happening through this play is immense.
Communication: The children are making eye contact with eachother, reacting to eachothers facial expressions and laughter and eachothers movements and actions too. They are being observant and responsive. They are communicating their enjoyment to us through sound and expressions. Some of the children are babbling and copying sounds we add to their play too!
Physical Development: The children are developing their balance and control as they sit and lean to reach toys. They are developing their fine motor skills and hand to eye coordination as they reach for the boats and other items and select and manipulate them.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development: The children are showing great enjoyment of eachothers company sitting close to eachother and holding up toys to show eachother. They are developing comfort and security in their surroundings through enjoyment and relaxation.
Who knew that so much learning could take place in one little activity full of laughter!
To start with all eyes were on the water, bubbles and the boats and ducks! They started to reach for the items to explore them.
We then discovered it’s even more fun to be sat IN the water!
