Job Role

Our Pre School is looking for a new Room Leader to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team.

Shift and Opening

This is a ‘Full Year’ position. The nursery closes for 2 weeks at Christmas, on Bank Holidays and weekends. The job role is Monday – Friday, with varying shift patterns between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

About Us

We have 3 separate rooms; Baby Room, Toddler Room, and a Pre School that joins two cohorts of children together.

Our Pre School room is a spacious and welcoming environment that enables children to thrive. The main play room benefits from a free flow courtyard garden plus the following 3 additional adjoining rooms, that enable staff to run focused and calm small group activities ; Small Group Room, Art Studio and a Lunch and Snack room.

We are also fortunate to have extensive grounds on site to explore, including a shaded wood garden area where our 3 peking ducks live. We take regular trips to the local library, Penlee Park, Morrab Gardens, Penzance Promenade and bus trips further afield to Mousehole and Marazion. We are developing partnerships with Penlee House, Gallery & Museum and The Edge of The World Bookshop. We are also embarking on our first train trip to St Ives this year!

About You

• Appllicants must hold a full and relevant Level 3 or above, Early Years qualification (Essential)
• Applicant needs a minimum of 1 years experience in a senior early years role, or extensive experience as an Early Years Practitioner.
• We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and passionate practitioner, who is able to extend and enhance children’s play and learning.
• Are you approachable, friendly and able to communicate effectively at all times, with your staff team as well as with children and their families?
• Do you hold an in depth knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety?
• Are you willing to immerse yourself in the creative and imaginative world of caring for our Pre School children? Convincingly sipping endless pretend ‘cups of tea’ with enthusiasm, embracing outdoor play whatever the weather, making mud pies and searching for ants, spiders and woodlice in the garden areas. Can you read a book with exciting voices, whilst comforting children in front of you, behind you and on top of you?
