You may have seen us post about The Colour Monster book before! It’s FANTASTIC! It introduces children to different emotions and links them to colours. This creates a visual talking point to discuss emotions. Children often collect the matching coloured colour monster teddy to represent how they are feeling and show us. We can then work towards how to help us feel ‘more happy’ or ‘more calm’.
The children love the pom pom sorting activity, this is when they sort the pom poms in to matching jars for each emotion. The action of sorting these soft poms poms is calming in itself.
