Our Toddlers and Pre School children explored a range of poetry on Thursday 3rd October for National Poetry Day.
We asked families to send in their favourite poems or their child’s favourite poem to share with their peers. We had two lovely poems from Sunny and Edith, Sunny even sent in a video of him retelling his poem beautifully.
The Toddlers went for a walk to Morrab Gardens and shared their poems whilst eating their snack on the bandstand. Pre School shared their poems on a walk around the beautiful nursery grounds where they spotted signs of autumn along the way. Pre School then created their own version of the ‘I Like…’ rhyming poem that they read together. Pre School have been exploring rhyme through their letters and sounds activities and we are very impressed by the rhymes they created.
