We would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who attended our Jubilee Tea Party. It’s been lovely to read emails of thanks this morning and to hear all the lovely comments yesterday. It was wonderful to see everyone together after such a long time of being restricted from these sort of events. We are still in shock that the Queen came to visit us! (HUGE thanks to Jane for playing the role so beautifully!)
It was WONDERFUL to see the secret garden area full of families celebrating together! We couldn’t believe the number of delicious cakes that were entered in to the Bake Off!
Well done to everyone who entered the Bake Off and to our 3 winners and the VIP cake that was auctioned off! The children’s Crown shortbread biscuits were delicious too! The cakes were judged by Nise who worked here at Bolitho for many years, it was lovely to welcome her back and she had a tough job choosing the winners, well done. We raised over £100 in donations which will go towards new outdoor toys for the children
We would like to thank the parents who spared their time at the end of the event to help clear away and move furniture – we are very grateful. The decorations, including the bunting the children made, have been passed on to our neighbours at the Frances Bolitho Care Home for the residents to enjoy over the weekend. We also delivered any last crumbs of cake to them too! The residents who were able to join us for the celebrations had a really memorable day.
